In the information about a track on The Indie Beat Radio, the artist’s name and the track’s album are linked to the artist’s preferred url as it was provided when uploading that track to Bandwagon.
Most tracks arrive at TIBr with the artist’s preferred url populated. But, quite frequently that link will be enclosed in double quotation marks (” “). Though just as often the url will not be enclosed in double quotation marks.
The music player script on theindiebeat.fm was treating a url enclosed in quotation marks as if it were empty (failing to read the string and treating the item as null). This was resulting in the artist’s name and the album title not linking to the url that was provided in the Bandwagon data.
The music player script now checks the artist’s url for quotation marks and removes them before applying the url as the link on the artist and album text.
However, the artist url still is occasionally absent when it arrives from Bandwagon. A better solution to that case (vs what happens now, which is that the artist and album are just linked to a non-existent url at theindiebeat.fm) will be pushed soon.
